What does a font manager do?
Whether you use just a few fonts or have a large collection you draw on for projects you work with on your Mac, managing the fonts you use is an important part of the creative process. Font management software makes it easy to install and uninstall fonts you have bought or downloaded from the Internet. Having too many installed at once can make your Mac run slower, so it is essential to use a font manager that will only install the fonts you need when you need them. You can also preview how each font looks before you install it on your Mac; this includes custom preview options where you can type in any text you want and change the font size, color and more.
More advanced users can also view detailed information about each font they are using by looking at the font metrics. Or, if you prefer to keep fonts separated by projects you use them in, you can easily create collections that can be all activated and deactivated (or installed/uninstalled) on the fly. Activation simply means the fonts will be temporarily loaded into your computer's memory for use in all applications until the next time you restart your Mac.
A great little tool to quickly find and use the font you are looking for.
